Hey Guys! Signal boosting that the ambassadors have pushed a snapshot for constitution changes.
Most of the language in unchanged from beforehand. There are a few points to hone in on:
1. Formalizing the notion of "sub-DAOs" in Governor DAO. The idea behind the sub-DAO is that while our core DAO should be bullet-proof and hardened, we can and should be experimental with spinning out additional groups. We can have an optimistic approach to sub-DAOs with the understanding that more groups help to scale in a truly DAO manner and silo'ing privileges associated with the sub-DAO alleviates any security vulnerability to the core Governor DAO.
Per the language, the two sub-DAOs that already exist are the Ambassadors and the Finance Committee.
2. Standardizing our voting logic. We will use a POE-protected Quadratic voting weight system. In Quadratic voting, the depth and breadth of votes both matter. This means that many small voters outweight one whale, but the more tokens you have, your weight does have some increase.
Our implementation will assess different base weights and requirements for POE and no-POE wallets to encourage community members to enroll in POE and maintain some minimum wallet holding.
Snapshot is here:
Note that the vote was proposed with less voting time than we typically do (under new constitution changes, this would no longer be accepted :) )
If this is a contentious vote, we can do some follow up with more in depth conversation. However these changes were pushed to the forums last week and no concerns have been raised. Cheers!
